A Flower to say Thank you.....

Today I have made a thank you card for Alex's Math Tutor, as he has his last lesson with her tonight before a heavy session of 5 'A' level modules over the next week, three all on the same day!

I have bought her a plant arrangement, and came up with my attempt of a Sunflower design for the card.
Card stock was Daffodil Delight, Very Vanilla and Old Olive, and I used some Daffodil Delight Designer Series Paper as well as coordinating bright button.....sentiments and additional flowers stamped from 'Just Believe' set

Another stepper card!

Card Class - Monday 27th June

I have been busy preparing for my next card class, which is on Monday 27th June, and was inspired by a handbag project I saw on a very talented demonstrator called Becky Roberts blog.

I loved her colour combo of Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Basic Black and Whisper White, so I haved cased her bag and added a gift card holder and 2 cards to complete my class. This is what we will be making;

This little bag uses the Top Note Die, I have created my own DSP using a circle stamp from the Level 3 Playful Pieces hostess set to get the large black polka dots!
Stepper Card is a new favourite of mine!
This little purse opens up and has a message section as well as a place to slot a gift card.
Finally a second card, using the embossing Polka Dots Folder, the scalloped trim punch and some lovely old olive satin ribbon.  If you would like to join me please email me at alisonwilkins656@yahoo.co.uk
venue is Pannal Methodist Church, Pannal, Harrogate. Bye for now.

Punch Art Flowers!!

Another family birthday today....my sister-in-law Jill, Happy Birthday Jill! India and I made this card on Sunday taking some inspiration from a bought birthday card!  We used the Fancy Flower and 5 Petal Flower Punch, but to make our large flower, punched 5 1 3/8" circles and then centred with a 1 3/4" circle.  Paper was a mix from the designer paper series in Brights and Subtles. Leaves punched with Build a Blossom punch, and wonderful buttons to accent the centres of the flowers.

The stems of the flowers were created by pricking holes and then stitching using the Linen Thread, finally I add faux stitching to the flowers using the White Gel Pen, and edged the card with Baja Breeze.

21st birthday celebration!!

Today, is my nephew Sam's 21st Birthday!!!  It's hard to believe he is 21 as he was just a baby at our wedding!  We are all very proud of Sam and all he has achieved.  This is the card that India and I made for him.

Base card is Night of Navy, with a cherry cobbler mat. Letters and numbers diecut using Big Shot and new alphabet dies, placed onto vanilla cardstock which we have colour spritzed with crumb cake,

Finally, we wrapped some linen thread around the very vanilla cardstock and finished with 2 coordinating buttons from the regals collection.   Hope you have a great day Sam!

Sorry for not posting!!!

Hello, Apologies that this is my first post in May!  Our house is a little stressed out at the moment, Alex in mid A Levels, India mid GCSE Exams, I am due to find out this week when I am being made redundant, so poor Dave is the only sane one amongst us! However I did manage to make a card last week, for my dear friend Anne, whose birthday it was.

I used the lovely stamp set, Fast and Fabulous which is a Level 2 hostess set, and the colours, so saffron, and more mustard with garden green.  My trusty stamp a ma jig was used for the 2 step stamping.

On that note I must also say a big thank you to the 6 lovely ladies who came to my class last Monday night, we had a great evening, and they all created beautiful pocket tote bags complete with 4 cards using the Trendy tree set....  I have family birthdays coming up in the next week and the wedding anniversary of some friends, so hopefully will be back to share those cards with you...once I've made them!

Following on from a day, glued to the television!! as promised I am able to share with you details of my May Class. I have used the Trendy Tree Stamp Set, and of course the 'couldn't be without' stamp-a-ma-jig and also the Funky Forest wheel...I was inspired by a very talented Australian Demo called Marelle Taylor, who in turn had used an idea for the Pocket Tote bag courtesy of Liam Pucher and Julie Buhler, 2 other wonderful demos!!! They have happily allowed me to 'case' their ideas, and I am truly grateful for that. This is my May class:

Never Ending Card ...take 3!!!

I was asked by a lady I work with to make a 21st birthday card as a Never Ending Card for her friends daughter.....I had previously made 2 others like this, (see earlier posts), and although love making them, they are rather time consuming!!!

Saturday of course was another glorious day so India and I sat in the garden, whilst Alex was playing, and scoring in a football match!!...and Dave was supporting of course...
I chose the colours, Baja Breeze, Pretty in Pink and Early Espresso, and used a combination of stamp sets including 'Simply Said', 'Crazy for Cupcakes' and 'On a Pedestal'.....cheated a bit with one of the sentiments as it was from one of this years fab sale-a-bration sets..Hope she likes it!!!

Will be back tomorrow with details of my May Class, using the 'Trendy Trees Set'.....bye for now. Ali  x
